Projects and Past Activities:
His main interests are the Archaeology and Ethnography of Easter Island, Eastern Polynesia and Melanesia, and at present is carrying out archaeological research in Raivavae, French Polynesia.

On Easter Island he has carried out extensive archaeological and ethnographic work from 1960 to date, and collaborated in the archaeological survey carried out by the University of Chile as well as in the recording of rock art, the restoration of Ahu Tongariki, with Claudio Cristino and Patricia Vargas and in the restoration of Ahu Akivi carried out by W. Mulloy and G. Figueroa in 1960 under the auspices of the University of Chile.

Between 1985 and 1995, as archaeologist for the Departement Archeologie, of the Centre Polynesien des Sciences Humaines of French Polynesia, he carried out extensive Archaeological Survey work and recordings of Rock Art in the islands of Tahiti, Raiatea and Huahine in the Society Islands and in Ua Pou, Nuku Hiva, Ua Huka, Hiva Oa and Tahuata,in the Marquesas Islands, as well as in Raivavae and Tubuai in the Austral Islands, French Polynesia.

He has also assisted in the production of numerous documentaries including a National Geographic TV documentary on
Easter Island and the Marquesas Islands with Wade Davis to be aired in August 2006.

Lectures:
Lectures on Archaeology, Ethnology, and Ethno-History of Easter Island and Polynesia through out the U.S.A, Canada, Chile, Tahiti, Mexico, Peru and Belgium.
